Disabled Bathrooms

In the past, the word disabled, handicapped or elderly styled bathroom painted a picture of clinical styling with the sterile and institutional environment of a hospital.

We at Livinghouse understand that good design in your home just seems to go out of the window when we are or become physically impaired or older.

For this very reason we have put together a collection of bathroom disability equipment and elderly products to help in mobility within a bathroom and shower area, these products are style led and easily fit within a family bathroom design.

We have found that people who are physically impaired are still very much style conscious and those who share these facilities also wish for a stylish bathing area.

Within our new mobility equipment collection we can supply the latest elderly and disability aids in beautiful contemporary styles which are superb European quality.

We offer
Walk in baths with frameless glass doors, which also double up as a shower screen. These easy access baths can be supplied with integral shower seats or for those with a higher level of disability a full chair lift to allow the easy lowering and lifting, again all contemporary in design.

For the shower we supply a wet room floor system to allow the easy and reliable installation of a waterproof wet room, even on upper level timber floors. As an alternative we can supply level entry shower trays which are installed at floor height and are without trip hazards and ideal for wheelchair users. For shower enclosures we have wrap round shower cubicles that fold neatly against the wall when not in use and for bathers requiring help we have full shower enclosures in frameless designs that offer easy access via split level double doors which gives good access to helpers. We also offer a full range of walk in shower screens and deflector glass screens which can be folded away when not in use.

To match we have a lovely collection of shower seats and bathroom stools that are tough and built to last. We offer wall mounted shower seats that fold up and down. These folding seats are contemporary styled waterproof and being fold away ideal for for keeping the bathing area minimalist and tidy.

For disabled toilets, we can supply loos which have a higher seating position than a conventional versions. We also have a brand new electronic toilet frame and cistern system which allows normal styled wall hung toilets to be added. This system allows the toilet to easily lift up and down to the desired height and is ideal for households of mixed mobility's eg. children very low and the elderly and infirm very high.

We can also supply wall hung basins with integral holding handles or grab rails disguised as towel holders, which is an ideal design feature for loosing that clinical institutional styling. We have an electronic basin lifting frame system which can change the sink height simply by the flicking of a remote control switch, this system is ideal for shared households with children, able bodied and wheelchair users and these lifting basin systems can use most designer and contemporary styled wall mounted basins.

For the weak and unsteady we offer a full range of grab bars for baths, toilets and around the shower. These grab rails can be supplied in white, chrome and stainless steel, as well as warm touch finishes for those suffering with nerve damage.
