This bakelite light switch with a square oak face plate is designed for period and heritage interiors where modern plastic accessories would feel out of place. The combination of traditional moulded bakelite and real oak creates a timeless look suited to Victorian, Edwardian, Arts & Crafts and country-style properties.
The square oak face plate is available in a choice of light oak, medium oak or dark oak, allowing it to sit comfortably alongside existing joinery, flooring or architraves. The oak is finished to highlight the natural grain while keeping the overall look in keeping with traditional interiors.
The switch is intended for use with an appropriate back box or pattress, depending on the installation method. Where surface-mounted wiring is required, it can be installed using a suitable surface pattress to provide clearance for cable entry. Additional back boxes or pattresses are not supplied and should be enquired about separately if required.
The bakelite front plate has a deep, authentic finish with subtle tonal variation, reflecting the character of traditional bakelite. The switch mechanism provides a firm, positive action and is suitable for everyday domestic lighting circuits.
Supplied only with a square face plate design and in selected bakelite colours, this switch is ideal for restoration projects, listed buildings, and character-led new builds where attention to detail matters.
