Feeling the Music
Music enthusiasts often show signs of experiencing music more deeply than others. Or at least that’s what they’d like us to think, but who knows if it’s true or not?
The theory is continued in many a song title or quote such as, Into the Groove, Lost in Music and of course Good Vibrations. There is no doubt that music can fire moods: relaxing and sleep inducing to partying all night, can all be influenced by our choice of music and the volume at which it is played. This has been expertly shown by the recent Strictly Come Dancing Series where competitors have said ‘the music really helped me to learn the dance’ or others, ‘I can’t get into our music for this number.’
Music is essential
For many, music is an essential part of their life. Music is the background to everything else they do. We read a design blog recently where the author included videos of the music they were listening to whilst designing a particular piece – nice detail.
Listening to music in the bath
If you especially love to listen to when you’re taking a bath, there is a new sensation awaiting you: the Sound Wave bath tub system. Designed by Kaldewei in Germany; it works via a series of flat speaker panels that can be fitted to the outside of your bath. Your bath needs to be steel/enamel so that the panels turn it into a ‘speaker box’.
The Sound Wave panels connect via Bluetooth to play music from your smartphone, tablet, or PC. The great thing is you can hear the music under the water too. Or rather, you don’t just hear the music but you physically feel it as well. Good vibrations indeed.
Not the first…
We know it’s not the first device to have an interactive connection in the bathroom, but it adds a new element and experience to your music enjoyment, whether your choice is soothing or rousing.
Of course you may not want your beautiful bath tub boxed in either. It sort of goes against the grain of contemporary styling. But it depends on your need for music and no doubt, your budget. Watch this video for more information.
As the 19th Century American academic Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons. You will find it is to the soul what a water bath is to the body.” With the Sound Wave you can do both!
