Boutique Hotels

The term ‘Boutique Hotel’ was first coined back in the 1980s by Steve Rubell, one of the founders of Morgan’s Hotel in New York. Rubell used the term to liken Morgan’s to a small, stylish boutique shop rather than a larger department store.

Since then, boutique hotels have sprung up all around the globe. They rarely use purpose built buildings, so with creative styling each hotel is unique. Boutique hotels tend to use very fashionable furnishings to create aspirational interiors – which is why many people are keen to replicate this trend in their own homes.

 

Bedrooms were the first to get this treatment as people felt inspired to recreate the styles they’d experienced in boutique hotel rooms; but it’s such a varied style that it can be applied to every room of your house. Getting the look
