Design-led bathroom trade shows such as Milan’s Salone del Mobile and Paris’ Ideobain\u00a0indicated that the natural materials would be a key focus in 2016 bathroom design. Natural stone and hardwoods will be favoured over the man-made materials that have been prevalent in recent years. Wooden wash stands, vanities and bathroom accessories are increasing in popularity. Wooden floors for bathrooms are also increasing in popularity.<\/p>\n

If you choose to bring in these natural wood and stone finishes, you should complement this style with other earthy tones. Replace chrome fittings with warmer copper or brass taps<\/a>. Green accents and patterned tiles work especially well with timber finishes.<\/p>\n

Moroccan chic<\/strong><\/p>\n

Patterned tiles look set to make a comeback in 2016, with Moroccan cement tiles already growing in popularity. Using a variety of tile designs, you can create a unique patchwork floor that really catches the eye.\u00a0You could even go all-out with tadelakt walls for the full Moroccan look. This is a fully waterproof plaster surface, and very common in Moroccan riads. The plaster creates a gorgeously seamless\u00a0design to contrast the busy tiled floor.<\/p>\n
