Bleach is one of the main culprits for concern, yet many still feel this the the best way to ensure things are properly clean. All are regarded favourably both in their lack of harmful chemicals and in their cleaning abilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Home-made preparations<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>But your home probably already <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apartmenttherapy.com\/how-to-make-your-own-bathroom-108150\" rel=\"nofollow\">has most of the ingredients<\/a> you need to make natural cleaning products.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #a4a4a4;\">Toilet cleaners<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Keeping the toilet clean is often the main argument for continuing with bleach. But here&#8217;s a recipe that works more gently to achieve the same results: mix \u00bc\u00a0cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar in the toilet. Let it sit for 15 minutes, scrub, and flush.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #a4a4a4;\">Bath tub and basin cleaners<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Multi-purpose spray of 1 &amp; 2\/3 cups of baking soda, \u00bd cup vegetable oil based liquid soap, \u00bd cup of water and 2 tablespoons of vinegar is great for a spotlessly clean a bath tub. Just apply with a cloth and rinse off afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>This mixture is good for bathroom tiles too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #a4a4a4;\">Tap cleaners<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Remove any lime or calcium build-up on your taps by wrapping them in a vinegar-soaked towel for a few hours. Rinse thoroughly afterwards for sparkling taps.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Or use some elbow grease, an old toothbrush and some white wine vinegar and get scrubbing. It really works.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #a4a4a4;\">Mirror cleaners<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Spray mirrors, glass shower screens or windows with a solution of 1 part vinegar to 16 parts warm water (\u00bc cup of vinegar and 4 cups of warm water). Apply with a dry cloth and keep rubbing until clean.<\/p>\n<p>To remove hairspray and generally clean your bathroom mirrors, soak a soft cloth with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apartmenttherapy.com\/the-12-best-household-uses-for-1-43876\" rel=\"nofollow\">vodka<\/a> and rub over the surface of mirror. You can also use the vodka method to shine chrome fixtures such as taps and shower heads.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2147\" style=\"width: 233px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2147\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2147\" alt=\"Vodka a cleaning product?\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livinghouse.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/vodka2-1.jpg\" width=\"223\" height=\"368\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.livinghouse.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/vodka2-1.jpg 223w, https:\/\/www.livinghouse.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/vodka2-1-182x300.jpg 182w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 223px) 100vw, 223px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2147\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vodka a cleaning product?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #a4a4a4;\">Tile and grout cleaners<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>To clean tile grout, just spray neat vodka onto the offending surfaces and leave for 5 minutes. Then wash clean \u2013 the alcohol in the vodka kills any residue of mold or mildew at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If this seems a little extravagant, mix 1 &amp; 2\/3 cups of baking soda with \u00bd cup of vegetable oil based liquid soap, 2 tablespoons of vinegar and \u00bd cup of water. Apply to tiles and rinse well afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #a4a4a4;\">A tip<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Just a few drops of lemon or tee tree essential oils will make any cleaner antibacterial.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #a4a4a4;\">And a word of warning<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Vinegar is a real multi-tasker, but it doesn\u2019t make friends with marble so please don\u2019t use it to clean marble baths, sinks or tiles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Most of us know that certain bathroom cleaning products contain chemicals that aren&#8217;t good for the environment.
