First things first<\/b><\/h4>\n

Humidity levels in bathrooms rise and fall more than in most other rooms.\u00a0 With so much moisture in the air, you need to ensure that you have adequate ventilation in the bathroom.\u00a0 This should have been considered during the design and installation of your new bathroom.\u00a0 If not, make sure any necessary changes are completed before you start on the decoration.<\/p>\n

Light and shade<\/b><\/h4>\n

Lighting is another consideration before you decorate. Different lighting options can change the way your wall design looks.<\/p>\n

Its a good idea to first check out the room both in full daylight and by artificial light –\u00a0Where does the light shine? Where are the dark corners?\u00a0 Consider all of these things when choosing the wall decor.<\/p>\n

The cheapest option – and easy to update.\u00a0 Choose an oil-based paint for the bathroom such as gloss or eggshell.\u00a0 Both of these help to protect from moisture, and are easier to wipe down.<\/p>\n
Bare in mind that painted walls are likely to show the runs of condensation, inevitable in a bathroom.\u00a0 The paint will need to withstand regular bathroom cleaning.<\/p>\n
Paint also gives a wide colour choice, with literally thousands of different shades on the market – some retailers even offer colour-match services to create the ideal hue.<\/p>\n

Wallpaper:<\/b><\/h5>\n
Wallpaper has come back into fashion over the last few years – it can be perfect for adding a feature wall to your living space. This trend is now beginning to find its way into bathrooms too.<\/p>\n
A word of warning though: make sure the wallpaper is suitable for the bathroom, and then only use it if your bathroom is well ventilated.\u00a0 Otherwise you can suffer mould problems or paper lifting.<\/p>\n

These are just a few of the options to choose from when decorating your bathroom. Of course you don’t have to choose just one – you could employ different wall coverings for different areas of the room: Paint the room one colour, wallpaper a feature wall, and tile around the bath and shower?<\/p>\n
The possibilities could be endless when you look at all the different tiles, wallpaper designs, and paint colours to choose from. The fun part is designing these finishing touches to reflect your personal style.<\/p>\n
