The term \u2018Boutique Hotel\u2019 was first coined back in the 1980s by Steve Rubell, one of the founders of Morgan\u2019s Hotel in New York. Rubell used the term to liken Morgan\u2019s to a small, stylish boutique shop rather than a larger department store.<\/p>\n

Since then, boutique hotels have sprung up all around the globe. They rarely use purpose built buildings, so with creative styling each hotel is unique. Boutique hotels tend to use very fashionable furnishings to create aspirational interiors – which is why many people are keen to replicate this trend in their own homes.<\/p>\n
