Show Time

Yes as we head into spring – well we hope we will be soon – it’s time to think about makeovers for the home and garden. As usual this year’s Ideal Home Show will be ready with lots to inspire us.

The show takes place between 20 March and 6 April at Olympia in London so there’s plenty of time to get your tickets and plan your day.

Show attractions

The show has seven celebrities to attract you to the show who will all have their ‘exhibition homes’ in different areas:

·         Alan Titchmarsh described as gardening royalty will be there at the Ideal Gardens section showing off his expertise

·         Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will be his flamboyant self at the Ideal Interiors sector

·         Architect George Clarke will head up the DIY section at Ideal Home Improvements

·         Greg Wallace will return with his restaurant in the Ideal Food and Housewares section

·         Katie Piper will head up the Ideal Fashion and Beauty sector

·         At the Ideal Technology section expect to find Suzy Perry

·         Money matters so Martin Lewis will be there with money-saving tips

But of course there will be much more on offer besides the big names.

Show inspirations

The Ideal Homes Show will as always have its iconic show homes for you to look around and steel ideas. This year there will be two homes up for scrutiny:

The Gap House does what it says on the tin – it is designed to fit into the gap between two buildings and is a mere 3 metres wide. Very useful if you have limited space and need inspiration and can embrace open-plan living.

The Home for Life is an ‘ultra-modular’ home built to be moved to any site within 24 hours as long as the site is ready. The one at the show has 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms but to show its flexibility it will be rebuilt at the Ideal Home Show Scotland and Manchester in different guises.

Of course there will also be many companies exhibiting their latest offerings to inspire your makeovers in every part of your home from bathroom furniture to wallpapers, technology and more.
