This unfinished dark red/brown Merbau engineered plank has a 6mm solid hardwood top surface. These highly stable unfinished engineered floors, have extra thick 6mm hardwood top layer bonded onto a 14mm stable plywood backing. These floors are ideal for laying over underfloor heating (must be adhesive bonded to the subfloor) where it is not recommended to lay a solid hardwood floor. Being an unfinished wood (but pre sanded) these engineered wood floors are indistinguishable once finished from traditional solid hardwood floors, but without the inherent movement problems of the solid hardwoods. Our engineered floors can be laid directly to concrete and timber subfloors and with its 20mm total thickness can also be used to span joists.
